Zen air curtains in the Istanbul Opera House
One of the most important buildings for Turkish culture is the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM), located in Istanbul, a city of Turkey. It has been renovated recently, after more than 50 years of history, and houses, among others, the Turkish Opera with an auditorium for more than 2,000 people. The project, carried out in more than two and a half years, at a cost of almost 120 million euros, uses Airtècnics air curtains.
The model chosen was the Zen air curtain, the emblematic decorative model and the main choice of many architects for interior design. The installation project of the air curtains has been realized thanks to Turkish AIrtècnics' distributor AKCOR with two air curtains superimposed vertically.
Energy saving
After passing through the security control, two black Zen air curtains of 1500 and 1000 mm respectively, cover each of the five access doors to the imposing hall of the building, counting in total ten air curtains with electric heating battery, which help reduce the energy cost of air conditioning the building.
Among the services offered by this marvelous work of engineering are a library, a gallery, a recording room, a cinema, a multipurpose room, an area for children's art, a design store and a cafeteria. Thus concludes a project that houses the widest cultural offer in the country.
