Airtècnics has released the new air curtains with a innovative disinfection and purification technology that works with a patented photocatalysis system, applying Kleenfan technology.

This technology consists of coating a turbine with titanium dioxide through which the air circulates and which, in contact with the light emitted by an ultraviolet led, inactivates the pathogenic organisms present in the environment.

This air purification and disinfection system is based on photocatalysis. This is a system that converts solar energy into chemical energy on the surface of a catalyst, in this case turbines.

Most of the pollutants carried in the air are removed due to the oxidation and reduction reactions generated by photocatalysis. This causes the mineralisation of carbon monoxides, nitrogen and sulphur oxides, formaldehydes or other volatile organic compounds that are produced in urban areas as a result of environmental pollution from vehicles and industries.

In this way, air curtains help to reduce and inactivate almost all organisms such as viruses, bacteria or polluting particles. In addition, ASHRAE has certified the installation of these systems in the accesses of commercial establishments for greater energy savings and good insulation from the outside.

All Airtècnics air curtain models can also be provided with the double system of disinfection and purification, not only of the air, but also of the surfaces. By equipping them with OH technology, the advanced oxidation process is combined with the aforementioned photocatalytic principle.

OH technology generates and effectively expands hydroxyl radicals, the most important natural oxidant in the troposphere that cleans polluting gases in a way that is harmless to humans, unlike ozone.

The models installed with the double system of purification and disinfection of air and environment include the Clever Advanced Control with program of disinfection working all the day, indicator of four levels of the quality of the air and of an alarm that warns that the disinfectant cartridge of hydrogen peroxide is empty and it is necessary to change it. The cartridges last about three months, depending on environmental conditions.
