How to cool server rooms?

Tuesday 17 June 2025

Temperature control in data centers is essential to ensure their optimal operation. In a world where technology tends to be at the heart of markets, and data processing centers are key to managing information and artificial intelligence, ventilation and cooling in these spaces become a priority for companies. The best way to ensure temperature and humidity control in large data centers is with air handling units.

The air handling units of the Airbox series have a modular design and can be individually configured. This allows for the right solution to be created for each application using a quick and simple procedure based on a tailor-made modular principle.

To ensure effective and efficient cooling, EC fans are the best option, considering the energy consumption involved in building and server room air conditioning.

Data processing centers generate a lot of heat, one of the main issues to address. Energy-efficient EC fans can be installed in server modules to help reduce the operating costs of data centers and offer a cost-effective and environmentally friendly cooling solution.

Airtècnics offers a wide range of fans specifically designed for this purpose. The most suitable models are the GKHM / GKHR radial fans, whose main features are:

  • Modbus-compatible EC motor (electronically commutated)
  • Built-in safety device
  • Can operate independently of mains frequency (50/60Hz)
  • High-performance impeller: efficient and low-noise
  • UL certified
  • Compact fans for limited spaces
  • Integrated control (0-10V), allowing greater ventilation adjustment
  • Greater energy savings than other fans

How to cool server rooms with EC Fans?

Their applications are very diverse: they serve as precision air conditioners, as ventilation units for direct or indirect cooling, in chillers, in uninterruptible power supply systems, and also in air handling units. In short, the perfect option to ensure the efficiency of a data center and keep servers in optimal operating conditions.
