Windbox air curtains in the logistics centre of the Lulu Logistics Group in Qatar
The Windbox air curtains have become the perfect solution to eliminate the environmental pollution that was entering the distribution centre of the supermarket chain Lulu in Qatar. Airtècnics' distributor in the Middle East, Orontes, has made it possible.
In the Logistics Village Qatar, the largest logistics centre in the Persian Gulf, are located the facilities of the giant LuLu, an international company with presence in several countries and which is one of the largest retail chains in Asia and the largest in the Middle East.
The central warehouse had these drawbacks:
- Large doors
- Strong wind
- High frequency of door opening/closing
- Multiple access routes
- Open area in front of the building
The Orontes engineering team realised that LuLu Group needed a powerful and robust air curtain that was low maintenance and could operate 24 hours a day. While respecting the free passage through the door, they determined that the air curtain that best suited the client's needs was a Windbox at each door of the logistics centre.
Over time, they have been able to validate the optimal functioning and effectiveness of the curtains in preventing the entry of dust and sand, typical of the environment in which this facility is located.
