For air turbine applications, axial fans are the ideal choice for cooling wind turbine nacelles. But radial fans, and also centrifugal fans, have cooling applications in other parts of wind turbines. The nacelle of a wind turbine contains many high-tech components which give off heat when in operation. The removal of this heat is necessary so that the system does not overheat and can always work at its maximum performance. Our fans of the DRA, DHA and DQ series are very well adapted to these conditions and efficiently fulfil this function.
Kinetic energy is converted into electrical energy in the generator. During this conversion, heat is lost. This heat must be dissipated to protect the generator from overheating. Our DRA series fans or DHA fans are ideal for this task.
Switch cabinets are essential for the perfect coordination of the components of a wind turbine. Here, too, sufficient heat dissipation is required to protect sensitive electrical components from overheating. The Plug Fan range, as well as the fans of the ERA series, have been specifically designed for this application.
The cooling of other electronic components, such as inverters or transformers, is also no problem for our fans. It does not matter whether the cooling has to be carried out in the nacelle or in the base of a wind turbine.
