Fans with EC technology

Airtècnics offers a wide range of energy efficient fans with EC technology, applicable to standard fans, fans for use in ventilation units, such as air curtains or air handling units, and OEM fans for other manufacturers.

EC technology for fans

EC fans are used in any application requiring economical energy consumption and simple control based on actual ventilation needs. The integrated electronics adjusts the EC fan so that it always works optimally. The requirement is a control signal.

Open loop

In the "open loop" operating mode, the fan speed can be continuously adjusted via a 0-10 V or 4-20 mA setpoint input. EC fans with integrated electronics are adjustable in speed 0%-100% of the nominal speed.

Closed loop

In the "closed loop" operating mode, the EC fan compares the setpoint value with the actual measured value and adjusts the speed according to the set requirements. The measured values (pressure, air flow, temperature, CO2...) must be present as electrical signal 0-10 V or 4-20 mA.

Modbus operation

In the "bus" operating mode, the EC fan can be integrated into a bus system via an RS-485 interface. With the Rosenberg ECParam software, the parameters of the EC fan can be changed via a USB to RS-485 adapter (operating mode, setting the minimum or maximum speed, etc.). It is also possible to monitor the operation.

  • Free running impellers
  • Plug Fans
  • EC FanGrids

In addition, thanks to their excellent properties, EC fans are generally used in energy recovery units. Depending on the air volume and application, our Airbox air handling units are also equipped with energy-efficient EC fans.
