New industrial air curtains with heat pump

At the forefront of innovation and solutions, Airtècnics adds to its catalogue new models of air curtains with heat pump for industrial use. With the aim of covering the industrial sector's increasingly relevant need of real time control of the optimal conditions and energy efficiency of the air conditioning systems.

The range of air curtains for large industrial doors with cooling requires special conditions. Firstly, the ambient temperature and the temperature of the air curtain coil, together with the ambient humidity, generates water condensation inside the curtain which, until now, could cause water to escape through the air jet of the curtain due to the drag of the air and its cooling capacity. This handicap was solved by reducing the fan speed and, consequently, the efficiency of the curtain. T

hanks to our ambition in research and development and with the essential economic participation of the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI), we have achieved the objectives we set ourselves at the beginning. We wanted to ensure that the optimal functioning of the water curtain would not be compromised in order to prevent the formation of water.

This would be achieved by avoiding condensation in the coil because, when working in cold weather, the air can contain less water (relative humidity) and the water that is left over when the air starts to become saturated condenses. There are two processes to prevent this from happening, either by lowering the relative humidity of the air passing through the curtain or by controlling the cooling of the air.

Intelligent control

For this purpose, an intelligent control has been developed for industrial air curtains. This new control incorporates a substantial change with the previous network communication controls that facilitate, among other things, real-time monitoring of the devices so that problems can even be solved from anywhere in the world. In addition to the usual temperature, humidity and download speed control.

All these novelties aim, above all, to achieve the highest performance and energy efficiency, fulfilling Airtècnics' commitment with the environment and providing economic savings to our consumers.

Among the models of industrial air curtains that support this new technology are: Windbox BB, its homonymous recessed model and the Windbox LXL air curtain, which is specially designed for very large doors.

At present, the heat pump brands with which the installations are compatible are Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and LG, in 1:1 and 2:1 systems; LG, Midea and Haier in VRF systems; and, on request, Toshiba with 1:1 and 2:1 systems.
