Retrofit project with EC FanGrid in a hospital in Germany

This time, Airtècnics shows you an air handling unit retrofit project with an EC FanGrid fan system in a building in the health sector. Our partners from Rosenberg in Germany have obtained this project to replace an old and inefficient drive-driven fan with several Plug&Play fans installed vertically in a matrix.
Advantages gained with EC FanGrid
- Increased efficiency of downstream components (air filters, heat exchangers...) due to more uniform air flow through the large rectangular ventilation ducts (5.9 m wide by 2.0 m high).
- More hygienic. The unit's EC fans do not suffer from the belt-drive abrasion caused by outdated fans. In addition, cleaning is easier thanks to the metal profiles and the uncluttered floor due to the location of the fans.
In short, renovation of an air handling unit with an EC fan composition is efficient and hygienic thanks to the fan's own characteristics, which helps to reduce air conditioning costs and reduce C02 emissions.
