New Windbox BB and Recessed Windbox BB standard air curtains
Airtècnics has designed and launched on the market two new air curtains models: Windbox BB and Recessed Windbox BB. These are the most powerful standard air curtains in our range. Both models are a combination of the innovations we have been implementing over the years and a remarkably high performance. In short, it is a model with the dimensions of a commercial unit, but with the power of an industrial air curtain.
By consulting the selection chart, it is possible to observe that both are recommended to be used for doors up to 7 meters in height, the equivalent of the Windbox XL industrial air curtains.
Let's see in detail the main characteristics of BB new models. Windbox BB and Recessed Windbox BB are highly versatile and customizable, with an elegant classic design – like the whole Airtècnics range of standard air curtains – and they fit perfectly with most of the commercial and industrial doors.
Windbox BB air curtain is designed in galvanized self-supporting steel sheet case, finished as standard with white epoxy-polyester paint. Other color variations are available on request. An external rotor motor drives centrifugal fans designed with EC technology. Three different heating options can be chosen: “P” type with water coil, “E” type with 3 heating stages and “A” type without heating. It can also be manufactured with direct expansion coil for heat pump under request. Windbox BB air curtains include as standard our Clever Control System.
The Recessed Windbox BB air curtain is designed to be installed into a false ceiling. It has a maintenance-free inlet grid, integrated with a single white frame (other colour variants are also available). Like the standard Windbox BB air curtain, it is also equipped with low noise EC fans, includes Clever Control and it is available in three different types: "P", "E" and "A" (ventilation only, without heating). DX with heat pump heating under request.
The innovative EC technology
What is EC technology? The concept behind EC (Electronically Commutated) technology is a combination of two different types of voltage, AC and DC – that is, alternating current and direct current voltage. Taking advantage of both combined technologies, the motors operate with a continuous voltage, but they work with an AC power supply.
What are the advantages and benefits of EC air curtains?
Air curtains that exploit EC technology – like our new Windbox BB and Recessed BB models – are enormously effective, offering up to 65% energy savings in ventilation, compared to air curtains with AC motors. In addition to a lower consumption, the motor works at a lower temperature than an equivalent AC motor, which increases its useful life. In addition, EC motor have no slippage losses, thus increasing the performance versus
AC motor. Air curtains with EC technology recover the price differential with an AC air curtain in just over a year. We save energy and reduce CO2 emissions to the environment.
