Extra-large ECFanGrid project in a climate chamber

Monday 18 May 2026

Our partners at Rosenberg France have shared with us an extraordinary real-life case study in industrial ventilation. On this occasion, they collaborated on the manufacture of a large climate chamber designed for an industrial environment in the HVAC sector, where the main challenge was to ensure high air flow rates, maximum operational reliability and stable performance under extreme conditions.

The challenge

The project required a system capable of moving over 680,000 m³/h whilst maintaining stable pressure and ensuring continuous operation even in the event of potential partial system failures.

Furthermore, the installation had to operate within a very demanding temperature range, from -20 °C to +60 °C, and under conditions of up to 100% relative humidity.

The solution

Two large EC fan walls (ECFanGrid) were designed and integrated:

  • 18 metres in length
  • 2.5 metres in height
  • 34 Ø500 mm EC fans per wall
  • Airflow of 682,500 m³/h
  • Pressure of 1,100 Pa

The scope of supply includes all components necessary to carry out the project from start to finish:

  • high-efficiency EC fans
  • structure and panels for integration
  • installation kit
  • redundant operating configuration

Advantages of the system

ECFanGrid systems offer a number of advantages that set them apart from any other solution on the market:

  • Redundancy and operational continuity. Thanks to the parallel operation of the EC fans, the system maintains its operating point even in the event of multiple unit failures. The remaining fans automatically compensate by increasing their speed, preventing the AHU from shutting down and ensuring process continuity.
  • High energy efficiency. EC technology enables energy consumption to be optimised and the system’s operation to be adjusted according to the facility’s actual demand.
  • Modular and bespoke solution. The modular design facilitates both integration into large industrial air handling units and future maintenance or expansion work.

Applications

This type of ventilation wall is particularly suitable for:

  • Climate chambers
  • Industrial air handling units
  • Specialised air handling units
  • Critical industrial processes
  • Retrofitting and refurbishment of existing equipment
